DEARING- Mr. John Ramon Wood, 74, beloved husband
of Mrs. Faye Wood, of Dearing, died Sunday, March 27,
2011 in the University Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in
the Fort Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Bray and Rev.
Jim Martin officiating. Burial wasin the church cemetery.
Mr. Wood was a native of McDuffie County. He was retired
from Civil Service, at Fort Gordon, as a locksmith. He was a
member of Fort Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John
Wood and Mrs. Clara McGahee Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Faye Wood, Dearing; his
son, Mr. Ramon Paul Wood, Augusta; his daughter, Mrs.
Susan (Gene) Emory, Dearing; his two grandsons, Logan
Emory and Chase Emory, both of Dearing; step-mother, Mrs.
Oda Mae Wood, Augusta;
and his two caregivers,
Lonnie Hampton and Mary
Johnson.
Pallbearers were Hugh
Hobbs, Jack Wood,
Bruce McGahee, Allen
Axon, Walter Reeves
Jr., and Jim McGahee.
Honorary pallbearers were
Lynn Reeves Sr., Harold
Whitaker, Marvin Dunn,
Boyd Reeves, Dr. Kenneth
Reeves, Randy Walden,
Lee Roy Taylor, and Dan
Cason.
Curtis Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.
