WARRENTON, GA. - Mrs. Barbara Yvonne Petty
Thompson of Warrenton, entered into rest April 4, 2011,
at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 7,
2011, from Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with Rev.
Randy Dunaway officiating. Interment will follow in the
church cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but
lived in Warrenton most of her life. She had retired as a
self employed bookkeeper and had worked for a number of
area businesses. As the author of the Tilly the Cow series
of children's books, Ms. Thompson brought to life the
laughable antics of many of the animals on her family farm.
Survivors include her husband, Alton Ware Thompson,
Warrenton; a son, Tommy Thompson; Warrenton; daughter,
Tammy Pretrice Stegall and husband, John, Jacksonville,
FL; step-mother Anita "Honey" Petty, Melrose, FL.;
brothers, Charles Petty and wife Ginger, Lansing, MI, A.W.
Petty and wife Julie, Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Betty Hinson
and husband Jim, and Mary Stephens all of Middleburg,
FL, Linda Gartz and husband Gordon, Jacksonville, Fl. and
granddaughter, Ashley Christine Stegall, Jacksonville, Fl.

17 Executive Park, Suite 115, Atlanta Ga. 30329.
