Mrs. Ella Edmunds Dozier
HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Ella Edmunds Dozier, 81, wife of
the late Millard Dozier, entered into rest March 29, 2011,
at Trinity Hospital, Augusta, Ga.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday,
March 31, 2011, in the Mount Tabor Baptist Church
Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Turpin and Dr. Tom Drake
officiating.
Mrs. Ella was born in Columbia County to the late James
Meldeau Edmunds and Lillian Prather Edmunds Reed and
was a longtime resident of The Village of Sawdust. She was
a retired case worker for the Columbia County Department
of Family and Children's Services. She attended Georgia
State College for Women. Mrs. Ella was also past president
of the Harlem Woman's Club and a member of the Mount
Tabor Baptist Church and former Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors include her daughter Kristie Dozier and a sister
Mrs. Julian Smith Neal (Jenna) both of Harlem.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Georgia
Baptist Children's Home, PO Box 329, Palmetto, GA
30268 or to the United Methodist Children's Home, 500
South Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
