Mr. Samuel Wayne Hammett
APPLING, Ga. - Mr. Samuel Wayne Hammett, 70,
husband of the late Sarah Whitaker Hammett, entered into
rest Tuesday, April 19, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 22,
2011, at Johnson United Methodist Church with the Rev.
David Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in the church
cemetery.
Mr. Wayne was born in Warren County to the late Samuel
Hammett and Vera Cason Hammett. He was a retired
Iron Worker and a member of Johnson United Methodist
Church. He enjoyed working in his woodshop and building
bird houses.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Hammett, Appling
and Wayne Hammett, Jr., Warrenton; stepson James Joyner,
Jr., Augusta; and stepdaughter Charlene Boatwright, Bath,
SC; Six grandchildren and five great-grandchild.

Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
