Fishing tourney benefits Habitat for Humanity

A bream tournament at Thurmond Lake on Saturday will benefit the Thomson-McDuffie County Habitat for Humanity.

Registration begins at Holiday Park at 6:30 a.m., and weigh-in will be at 2 p.m.

The registration fee is $20 for adults, $20 for those 14 and younger.

Prizes are $150 or 25 percent of registration fees, whichever is more, for the most weight; $25 for the largest fish; and $10 for the smallest fish.

To reach Holiday Park, take Lincolnton Road (Georgia Highway 43) from Thomson to the first paved road on the left after crossing the Raysville Bridge. Turn left at the sign for Holiday Park and follow the paved road to its end.

For more information, call Jim Bodine at (706) 699-0209.
