Spend taxpayers ' money on something useful to all

To the editor:

In response to William M. Wheeler's letter on May 5, I for one agree wholeheartedly. Commissioner Paul McCorkle is not the only one who cannot seem to get it together and perform his duties to all the people of our county. It seems that if it is something they want, they will spare no expense and will do it regardless of what anyone has to say.

Things like expensive fountain, skateboard park, proposed swimming pool, etc. These items and a few more help a few but not the majority.

Why not something useful, such as a storm warning system that helps all? This is just one item, and believe me there are many more.

Who is going to pay for all the damage, such as tearing up part of a skateboard park or down the road a fountain full of soap suds? None of us really should worry, for our elected officials will again rise to the occasion and once again raid the taxpayer tree for more nonsense!

What happened to promises made by you people for us? You all should be ashamed!
