Mr. James T. Crosby
DEARING, Ga. - Mr. James T. Crosby, 86, entered into
rest on June 5, 2011, at Thomson Health and Rehab,
Thomson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday,
June 9, 2011, at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Pauline
Hughes officiating.
Mr. Crosby was a native of Dearing, but lived in
Augusta for many years. He retired from the Augusta Fire
Department as a lieutenant after 25 years of service. He was
a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy. He
loved fishing and gardening. Mr. Crosby was a member of
the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Rodgers
Crosby, parents, George W. and Ethel Mae Gay Crosby,
brother, Harold Crosby and sister, Gladys Wren.
Survivors include his son, Victor Wayne Crosby and wife,
Chom Suk of Woodbridge, Va.; sister, Idell McDonald
and husband, Peanut of Savannah; grandchildren, Peggy
E. Lowe and husband, Charles of Graniteville, S.C., Gene
Whitfield and husband, Brad of N. Augusta, S.C. and
Jeannie Crosby of Brooklyn, NY; great grandchildren,
Noah Lowe of Graniteville, S.C. and Clementine Crosby-
Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nephew, Gerald Wren and loving
neighbors and caregivers, Tommy and Sonya Hardin and
their children, Kevin, William and Cassy.
