Magic and reading
Chad Crews, a former educator who travels to schools and libraries around the Southeast performing magic and inspiring children to read, brought his Around the World With a Book presentation to the Thomson-McDuffie County Library on June 9. About 100 children, ranging from infancy to elementary school age, were introduced to Crews' "Rocky Balboa" and a variety of magic tricks as part of the library's Vacation Reading Program, which continues through July 26.
