Miss Mary Ellen Kent
GIBSON, Ga. - Miss Mary Ellen Kent, age 80, of Gibson
died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the McDuffie Regional
Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m.. Tuesday, June 14,
2011, at Bethel Baptist Church Thomson, with the Rev.
Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial followed in the Sallie Hill
Cemetery.
Miss Kent, a native of Glascock County, was the daughter
of the late Obadiah L. and Emma Newsome Kent. She was
a resident of Watson Manor in Thomson before becoming
a resident of Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center seven
years ago. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kent; niece,
Patricia Miller; nephew, David Kent, all of Grovetown,
and a great niece, Lynn Kent of Gibson.
Pallbearers were Donnie Hadden, Scott Usry, Jonathan
Hadden, Edward Gay, Robbie Dixon, and Mike Gurley.
Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
