Mrs. Martha M. Silas
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. - Mrs. Martha M. Silas, 91, loving wife of the
late Mr. Leonard M. Silas, entered into rest Sunday June 19, 2011, at Warner
Robins Rehab. and Nursing Home.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Briar Creek Baptist
Church with the Rev. Bill Seaman and the Rev. Randy Dunaway officiating
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Silas was born on September 23, 1919, in Hart County, Ga. She was a
long time member of Little Briar Creek Baptist Church, Warrenton, Ga. Martha
was a schoolteacher with the Glascock Co. Board of Education, Gibson, Ga. at
Bastonville School and Glascock County Consolidated School for 40 Years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. John Henry Minyard and
Johnnie Mae Adams Minyard, a son, Leonard Gerald Silas, sisters, Essie Marie
Dailey, Ola Grace Farmer, Octie Belle Farmer, Eddie Mae Israel and a brother,
John Horace Minyard.
Her memory will foreever br treasured by her loving daughter, Martha
S. (Frank) Wadsworth of Centerville; two granddaughters, Lisa W. (Todd)
Hightower of Eastman and Ginger W. (Chris) Rodrigues of Cumming; five
great -grandchildren, Hannah, Christopher, and Abegail Hightower, and
Conner and Barrett Clark; two sisters, Rosa Lee M. Greer and Mary Ann M.
Goss, and many loving nieces and nephews, and friends. Pallbearers were Mark
Minyard, Johnny Frank Goss, Tommy Goss, Thelston Goss, W.L. Norris, Gene
Norris, and James Isreal.
Memorials may be made to the Little Briar Creek Baptist Church. in care of
Mrs. Julia Massey, 3580 Mt. Pleasant Rd. Thomson, GA. 30824.
