Woman says she was robbed on way home from work

A woman says she was robbed early Tuesday in the Dearing area as she returned home from work at an Augusta restaurant.

The woman said she was traveling on Adams Chapel Road shortly before 2 a.m. when an older-model black BMW pulled out in front of her and blocked her. She said a black male of medium build wearing a white cap, green shirt and jeans got out and approached her vehicle. When she rolled down her window, she said, the assailant pulled a gun and struck her on the left cheek.

After she told him she had no money, she said, he threatened to shoot her. She opened the center console and give him between $250 and $300, tips from her job.

He took the money and then struck her in the face with his fist, she said,

She was unable to give a detailed description of the assailant.
