Man leaves Baron HR with file, cashbox

An employee of Baron HR says a man who came to the business for a drug test on June 17 left with a cashbox containing $782.

The employee said that when she went to test the urine sample provided by a man she identified as Mark Edward Gresham he took the cashbox and his file, which she had placed in a file cabinet, and left.

The employee said she had a made of copy of Gresham's Social Security card, which he left on the copier.

Police seek man who robbed store with gun

Thomson police are seeking a man who robbed a business on Augusta Road on June 22.

Chief Joe Nelson said the man entered USA Groundcover at 10:55 a.m. armed with a gun. He took a debit card and a small amount or money from the cash drawer, Nelson said.

The chief said that bloodhounds were called out and that the debit card was recovered.

He described the robber as a young black male of medium build, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 155 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a blue hoodie and dark shorts.

As of Monday, no arrest had been made.

Semiautomatic gun stolen from vehicle

A Thomson man told police that a semiautomatic handgun was stolen from his vehicle between June 17 and June 19.

Jefferson W. Rabun of 2075 Mesena Road said the .40 caliber Taurus handgun is black and was in a canvas holder with a 10-round magazine.

No arrests had been made as of Monday.
