Two men face weapons and affray charges as the result of an incident earlier this week.
Thomson Police Chief Joe Nelson said that Antoine Berry, 25, address unknown, and Devanquez Burley, 21, of Augusta, are charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and affray. Burley is also charged with discharging a firearm inside city limits.
The charges stemmed from a fight Tuesday between the two men and Johnny B.Bradshaw, of the 300 block of Howard Street in Thomson.
Nelson said Bradshaw's son and Berry had been involved in a fight earlier in the day. He said he found Berry at 519 Bussey Ave. and was talking with him about the fight when he was struck from behind. He fell to the ground and both men began hitting him, he told police.
Bradshaw said that as he fled the scene in his truck shots were fired at him. He was not struck.
