Ms. Evelyn B. Hancock
THOMSON, Ga. - Ms. Evelyn Brunson Hancock, age 86,
passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011, at McDuffie Regional
Medical Center in Thomson.
She was born in Screven County, was a homemaker and was a
member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church. She was a loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Berle Edgar "Lucky"
Hancock; parents: William Reginald and Ola Daughtry Brunson;
great-grandson: Hunter Forehand.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley Ann and Sonny
Hunnicutt of Thomson, and A. Marie and Johnny Reese of
Thomson; sons and daughters-in-law: Berle E., Jr. and Dottie
Hancock of Blackshear, Ga., and Ernest and Christine Hancock
of Rocky Ford, Ga.; sisters: Ora Lee Edenfield of Portal, Ga.,
Ruby Bragg of Union, S.C. and Grace Lanier of Belvedere, S.C.;
10 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren;
5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 2 p.m.
at Rocky Ford Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Jones and
the Rev. Bob Holsten officiating. Burial was at Rocky Ford
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Hancock, John Hancock, Sean Dixon,
David Reese, Ray Beggs, Robert Dixon, John Smoak, Vernon
Costolo and Gary Gergen.
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home was in charge of
all arrangements.
