Mrs. Virginia Lee Norris Lever
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Virginia Lee
Norris Lever, 76, of Thomson, entered into
rest July 8, 2011, at University Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Bobby
Allen and the late Rev. J.D. Lever.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m.,
Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Sweetwater
Baptist Church with the Revs. Grant
Cantrell and Kenneth Garvin officiating.
Interment followed at Savannah Valley
Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Chuck Cason, Doug Smith, Chad Smith,
Ronnie Bohler, Adam Chalker and Price Chalker.
Mrs. Lever was born in Warren County, and was the daughter
of the late Albert Lee Norris and the late Virginia Harris Norris.
She was retired and had been employed with Uniroyal, First
Federal and First National Bank. She was a faithful and devoted
member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where she served in many
capacities. Not only had she served as church secretary, she was
Sunday school teacher, discipleship training teacher, committee
member and general encourager working wherever she was
needed. She was a real student of God's word and lived out the
truths she learned. The truths that she taught made a difference
in many lives. Mrs. Lever loved her Lord and her church and she
will be greatly missed by her church family.
Survivors include her son, Barry Price Allen and his wife, Jeanne
of Warrenton; daughter, Kathy Allen Chalker and her husband,
Milton of Warrenton; brother, Albert Bro Ware Norris of Texas;
sister, Gloria Norris Stanley of Louisville; and grandsons, Adam
Lee Chalker and James Price Chalker.
Memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church or
American Cancer Society.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
