Mrs. Frances Anne Reed Welsh
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Frances Anne
Reed Welsh, 69, died July 7, 2011, after
a battle with cancer. She was the beloved
wife of Luther L. Welsh.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the First United
Methodist Church with the Revs. John
Barnes and Bernard Grant officiating.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m.
Monday, July 11, 2011, at the Mount Zion Presbyterian Church
Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating.
Mrs. Welsh was born in Sumter, S.C., and was the daughter of the
late Herman Collier Reed and the late Frances Cross Reed. She was
a devoted mother and was a dedicated fan of her husband's coaching
career for 50 years. The Thomson High School Booster Club honored
her in 2006 as the First Lady of Thomson High School Football. Mrs.
Welsh was a retired administrative assistant with Child Support
Recovery and was a member of First United Methodist Church of
Thomson.
Survivors include her
husband, Luther L. Welsh of
Thomson; daughters, Andrea
Welsh Gay of Thomson, and
Lucia Welsh Coker of Turbeville,
S.C.; grandchildren, Taylor
Gay, Tanner Gay, Reed Coker,
and Zac Coker; sister-in-law,
Carole Welsh Barrineau of Lake
City, S.C.; brothers-in-law,
Josey D. Welsh and wife, Pat
of Belvedere, S.C., and Thomas
S. Welsh and wife, Judy of St.
Helena, S.C.
The family would like to
extend heartfelt thanks and
appreciation to Dr. Hetal
Thakore, Dr. Mac Bowman,
Dr. Mark Keaton, Dr. Ian
Herskowitz, Dr. Randy Cooper,
Dr. Watts, Kelli Roberson,
Elizabeth Lowe, Josey Welsh

Memorials may be made to
