Georgia's state-owned public fishing areas, including one in McDuffie County, will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning Aug. 1 as part of an effort to cope with budget cuts.
"These changes will allow us to continue to offer the same level of experience while dealing with current staff reductions," said John Biagi, the chief of fisheries for Georgia's Wildlife Resources Division.
After Aug. 1, all public fishing areas will be open five days each week (Wednesdays through Sundays), sunrise to sunset.
