Mr. George Usry and Ms. Christine Usry would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Melissa Beth Usry, to Mr. Adam Shay Weatherford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Weatherford of Douglasville, Ga. The wedding is planned for September 2011 in Thomson. Miss Usry is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thad Usry of Thomson, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sims of Lake Wales, Fla. She is a 2005 graduate of Thomson High School and received her doctorate of pharmacy from The University of Georgia. She is currently employed as a pharmacist at Walgreen's in Thomson. Mr. Weatherford is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louie Stiles of Douglasville, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clark Weatherford of Austell, Ga. He is a 2004 graduate of Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville and received his bachelor of science in forest resources, dual major in forestry and wildlife from The University of Georgia. He is currently employed at Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc. in Thomson.
