THOMSON, Ga. - Michael "Mikey" Lynn
Dingus, III, 12, of Thomson, died Aug. 8, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 11, 2011, at the Vine Community Church
with the Rev. Keith Kurtz officiating. Interment
followed in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Stanphill, Jr., Lee Dingus,
Shawn Dingus, Ross Matherly, Eddie Graham and
Evan Luke.
Mikey was a native of Thomson, and was a student at Thomson
Middle School. He was active in McDuffie County recreation
football and soccer and Y130 indoor soccer. Mikey was involved in
Civil War reenactments and enjoyed skate boarding. He attended
Kid's Quest and was a member of the Vine Community Church,
where he sang in the church choir.
Survivors include his mother, Erica S. Dingus; father, Michael
Lynn Dingus, Jr.; brother, Eric Matthew Dingus; sister, Maci
McTier, all of Thomson; grandparents, Peggy Dingus, Michael
Dingus, Sr., Rob and Cindy Luke, Jimmy and Cathy Spires, St.
Matthews, S.C.; great-grandparents, Dollie Story, Samuel L. Story,
Edward and Marie Bales, all of Thomson, and Hattie Spires, St.
Matthews, S.C.
Memorials may be made to the Michael Lynn Dingus, III, fund at
Queensborough National Bank .
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
