Mr. Lavaughn Crunkelton
Retired Corp of Engineers
GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Lavaughn Crunkelton, age 59, died
Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical
Center Augusta.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11a.m. Saturday, Aug.
20, 2011, at the Gibson City Cemetery, Glascock County, with
the Rev. Ed Chance officiating.
Mr. Crunkelton, a native of Atlanta, had lived in Glascock
County for the last 12 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and
retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He was a member
of New Hope Baptist Church, Ocala, Fla.
He is survived by his parents, Hilda N. and Calvin McCoy, of
Gibson; a son, Travis Crunkelton, Thomson; one daughter, Diane
Crunkelton, Spartanburg, S.C.; two brothers, Jack (Freddie)
Crunkelton, and Jeff (Diane) Crunkelton, both of Gibson, and
four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, W.C.
(Jack) Crunkelton and a brother, Bruce R. Crunkelton.
Pallbearers were Kent Daniels, Victor Raley, Bill Raley, Mike
Braswell, David Logan, Dennis Bazemore, and Gary Usry.
Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
