Mrs. Joy Dixon Mullis
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Joy Dixon Mullis, 77, of Thomson,
died Aug. 22, 2011, at her residence. She was the beloved wife
of James Jim Mullis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25,
2011, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bryant
Neal officiating. Interment followed in the Sweetwater Baptist
Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Herndon, Jim Smith, Kenneth
Callaway, Kevin Williamson, Doug Lord and Greg Mullis.
Mrs. Mullis was born in Cadwell, Ga., but has lived in
Thomson since 1971. She was a homemaker and retired as a
sales associate from Langham's Clothes Corner Outlet. Mrs.
Mullis was also a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Mullis; daughters,
Jamie M. Sewell and husband, Stephen, all of Thomson, Karen
Mitchell, Swainsboro, Ga.; brother, Donald Burch, Macon,
Ga.; sister, Grace Evans, Rentz, Ga.; grandchildren, Michael
Crosby, Jennifer Crosby, Alecia Shaw, J. R. Mullis and wife,
Camille, Chris Mullis, Mikayla Mitchell; great-grandchildren,
Kaleigh Crosby, Taylor Shaw, Charlee Crosby, Ricky Hudson
Mullis, Jackson James Mullis; daughter-in-law, Tara Herndon
and husband, Jimmy.
Mrs. Mullis was preceded in death by her son, Richard Ricky
Mullis.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
