FBLA training

Thomson-McDuffie Middle School Future Business Leaders of America President Michael Myers (from left), Secretary Kendall Erkens and Vice President Allison Murphy, along with adviser Albert Gunby, attended the 2011 Summer Leadership and Officer Training Summit at Swainsboro High School. This training camp is meant to prepare local chapter officers and other leaders for their upcoming duties and roles. Each officer attended a breakout session relating to their specific office, and they were given an officer's manual describing their duties for the upcoming year. The advisers met with Monty Rhodes, the state FBLA adviser, for updates and to go over the FBLA calendar. Each chapter was given their chapter planning guides, along with recruitment material. Officers and advisers participated in teambuilding activities to help build leadership skills and promote fellowship among the members.
