Community members can help with several of Norris Elementary School's fundraisers this year.
Among these are the Trash to Cash recycling program, Coke rewards, Labels for Education, Box Tops for Education, and the Bi-Lo BoostersPlus Program.
Parents and community members can help by collecting and dropping off items at NES. Recyclable items, Coke bottle caps, labels and box tops can be dropped off at the car-rider pickup area on Bethany Drive or in the main office at 511 Main St. A list of participating products in the Labels for Education and Box Tops for Education programs can be found at www.mcduffie.k12.ga.us/norriselementary.cfm or in the school's main office.
Among the items needed for Trash to Cash are:
Coke points and caps from packages
wrapping from toilet tissue, paper towels, etc.
old toothbrushes, empty toothpaste tubes and boxes
packaging from diapers and wipes
energy/granola bar wrappers
lunch kit plastic seals ("Lunchables")
cheese bags and containers
glue sticks and bottles
cosmetic and lotion tubes
Bi-Lo offers a BoostersPlus program, which allows Norris Elementary to receive 1 percent of a purchase each time the customer shops at Bi-Lo. Registration is free, and community members can contact the NES main office to obtain a bar code card. Shoppers scan the card once at Bi-Lo and then use their Bi-Lo bonus cards each time they shop to direct 1 percent of the purchase to NES.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to help with these efforts may contact the school's main office at (706) 986-4400.
