THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Francie C. Downs, 66, beloved wife of Mr. Roy Downs, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, in Trinity Hospital. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Holbrook officiating. Burial was in the Plum Branch Cemetery, S.C. Mrs. Downs was a native of Davenport Neb., but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was retired from the restaurant business. Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by her son, Freddie Oliveira. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Roy Downs, Thomson; her two daughters, Candy (Wes) Davidson, Augusta, and Christine (Jeff) Higdon, Thomson; her brother, Steven McEachern, Atlanta; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
