Late Sunday night, a McDuffie County deputy apprehended a suspect in a Thomson Police Department armed robbery case.
McDuffie County Sheriff's Office Deputy Alan Baldwin arrested Robert Tywon Bussey, 22, according to a police report.
City warrants had been taken out weeks ago for Bussey's arrest after he and an accomplice were identified in connection with a robbery that occurred on Aug. 4 at 519 Dixie Drive, according to Thomson Police Chief Joe Nelson.
According to a police report, victims Ahmad Abdal Rahim and Raja Abbas were outside the address when they were robbed at gunpoint.
Two men took $500 in cash and jewelry valued at $2,600 before fleeing.
On Sunday, TPD received information that Bussey was within McDuffie County's jurisdiction, at which point Baldwin made the arrest at a traffic stop, Nelson said.
