THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral service for Mrs. Myrtis Martin Hampton, 87, of Thomson, will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, Thomson, pastor, the Rev. F. D. Favors, with the Rev. Garnie Shorter, eulogist, and the Rev. Robert Martin, Presiding. Interment: Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson. Survivors: seven grandchildren, Linda Ann (Leon) Grissom, Detroit, MI, Otis (Kamina) Martin, Albany, Michelle Martin, Troy Martin, Roderick Martin, all of Thomson, Carla (Derrick) Gross, and Carliss (Jeff) Hannah, all of Stone Mountain; one sister, Shirley (Lloyd) Shank of Thomson; 27 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; a stepson, Bobby (Ametia) Hampton, MS; two step-grandchildren, Bryan Hampton, Biloxi, MS and Cynthia Wilder, Albuquerque, NM; two step-sisters, Henrietta Burnett, Augusta, and Fannie (John) Norman, Thomson; two sisters-in-law, Sophia Casey, MA, and Hattie Casey, NC; three brothers-in-law, John (Nancy) Jackson, Olin (Lucille) Hampton, all of Thomson, Roscoe (Barbara) Casey, MA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
