The McDuffie Arts Council will hold a Sip 'N See Friday night to bring traffic downtown and to expose residents to local artwork.
The event will be at the MAC on Main art gallery at 107 Main St. in downtown Thomson. It is free and will begin at 5 p.m..
The gallery features the work of painters, sculptors, potters, woodworkers and photographers. This will be the third Sip 'N See since the gallery opened in February.
"People have been very supportive of the art gallery," said Anne Knox, a member of the MAC gallery committee. "We had a good crowd at the first two Sip 'N Sees."
Knox said the artists switch the items on display for each event so that visitors can peruse different artwork.
Friday's event will have two additions to the usual displays -- a "small wall" and a display of student work.
The small wall features smaller works that would make ideal Christmas gifts, Knox said.
Everything on the wall is for sale, and prices start at $28.
"We'll certainly try to keep the small wall going as long as the artists can provide enough to put on it," said Marion Ivey, the chairman of the arts council.
"It just creates a new price category for the gallery."
Charlene Montgomery, who teaches painting classes, will put her students' work on display as well.
Knox said there is plenty of time for people to stop by the Sip 'N See before Friday night's football games.
"It gives people a social time before they head to the game," Ivey said.
