DEARING , Ga. - Mr. Jack Lamar Richards, Sr., 87, passed away Thursday, Oct. 06, 2011, at the McDuffie Regional Medical Center. Mr. Richards was a sweet, sociable man with a great heart. He loved to tell stories about his brief Navy tour during World War II. He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Camilla Benson, Juanita Baker, Buddy Richards (Helen), George Richards (Bernice), Mary Jane Locklere (Frank), Francis Jordan (Joe) and Bill Richards. He is survived by a brother, Kemp Richards (Lucy); four children, Jack Richards, Jr. (Betty), Jon Richards (Jane), Gloria Hill (Bob), and Patrick Richards, and numerous grandchildren. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Rev. Jon Richards officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
