DEARING, Ga. - Mr. Alvin Prather, 84, widower of Mrs. Claudine Prather, of Dearing, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at his residence. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in Walker Cemetery with the Rev. Todd Upchurch officiating. Mr. Prather was a native of McDuffie County. He was a farmer. Survivors include his son, Allen Prather, Dearing, and his daughter, Nancy Albrecht, Dearing; nine grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
