New props based on New York landmarks overlook the Thomson High School band. The Saturday evening performance at Grovetown High School saw the Bulldog Brigade earn sixth place in the nine-band open competiton. The Statue of Liberty and Empire State Buildig props made their debut Saturday afternoon. In the Georgia Marching Band Series preliminaries, Thomson won first place over Jones County and Harlem in Class 3A. The band also received all Superior Ratings and captured additional awards for auxiliary, drum line and drum major.
