Mr. and Mrs. Marty Pinion and Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Wood of Warrenton are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Lyn Wood, to Matthew Blake Smith, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney A. Smith of Thomson. The wedding will be held on Dec. 17, 2011, at Sweetwater Baptist Church in Thomson. Miss Wood is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mack Coxwell, Mrs. Betty Jo Hadden and the late Billy Wayne Wood. A graduate of Briarwood Academy, Miss Wood received an early childhood degree from Georgia College and State University and a master's degree in early childhood education from Piedmont College. She is presently teaching second grade at Cartersville Primary School in Cartersville, Ga. Mr. Smith is the grandson of Fay Smith and the late Dot Smith and Mrs. Edna Crawley Williams and the late James H. Crawley. A Thomson High School graduate, Mr. Smith received his biology degree from Shorter College and is currently working towards another degree in secondary education. He is presently employed at Tractor Supply in Rome, Ga.
