On Saturday night, the Thomson Police Department arrested Rahim Jerome Brown, of the 500 block of Dell Drive, on charges of theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Brown, 17, is underage and not allowed to possess weapons.
The department received a report that someone underage was in possession of firearms on Dell Drive. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant, who said Brown had several rifles and handguns, according to the incident report.
Capt. Jamie Bridges spoke with Brown's mother, who said she wasn't aware of any weapons in the residence. She gave consent for officers to search the premises, according to the report.
They discovered a rifle, several BB guns and a bag belonging to Rahim Brown that contained a magazine for the rifle and a revolver. Officers also found a computer that was stolen during a burglary earlier this year. Brown was taken to the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center for booking.
The case is under further investigation.
