Program helps cancer patients with chemotherapy side effects

Look Good ... Feel Better is a free program that teaches adult female cancer patients how to cope with the appearance-related side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Volunteer cosmetologists lead the program that includes a 12-step skin care and makeup program and demonstrations on hair/wig techniques to help restore a positive self-image.

The next session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 from 5-7:00 p.m. at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. To RSVP, contact Dawn Swan at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, (706) 597-5202.

For more information about cancer, call the American Cancer Society 24 hours a day, seven days a week at (800) 227-2345.
