COATS AND BLANKETS

WHAT: McDuffie County Partners for Success is accepting clean coats and blankets for McDuffie County families. Items can be dropped off at the office, 1121 White Oak Road, across from Thomson High School.

WHEN: Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

NOTE: Partners for Success also is beginning its Christmas campaign. Anyone interested in adopting a McDuffie County family for Christmas may call Partners. There is no fixed cost to participate.

BRIARWOOD FALL FESTIVAL

WHERE: Briarwood Academy

WHEN: 5 p.m.-8 p.m. today

DETAILS: Trick-or-treating from 5-6:30 (must wear costume to participate in trick or treating). Games from 5-7:45; tickets are five for $1. Christian concert by Ethan DeMore, 7:30 p.m., Briarwood gym.

Activities include: football toss, candy corn toss, pumpkin bowling, pick-up ducks, go fish, ring toss, dunking booth with coaches, doughnut bobbing, treasure dig, cupcake walk, darts and balloons, basketball shoot, putting green, picture booth, jail, face painting, nail salon, hair salon, bingo, hay ride, pony ride.

TI-COUNTY RETIRED EDUCATORS MEETING

DETAILS: The Rev. Brennan Francois will present the program. A silent auction will be held and plans for a bake sale on Nov. 19 will be finalized. A good attendance is urged.

14TH ANNUAL FALL PUMPKIN RUN

WHERE: Hooters Restaurant, 2834 Washington Road, Augusta

WHEN: Nov. 5

DETAILS: Rain or shine. Registration is 9 a.m. to noon. Dash plaques for first 200 participants. Awards at 3 p.m. Lots of door prizes, 50/50 drawing will be one draw. GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION TEST RESULTS

WHERE: Thomson High School guidance office

WHEN: Pick up scores during school hours

DETAILS: The next administration of the English, Math, Science and Social Studies tests will be Nov. 7-10. Testing will begin at 8 a.m. Those former students interested in taking one or more of these tests must call the guidance office at (706) 986-4222 to register. Last day to register is Nov. 1.

There will be first aid/CPR training from 9-11:30 a.m. After lunch, the district meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. All Lions and guests are invited to attend both the training and district meeting. DETAILS: Season tickets - 10 homes games for $50; savings of $10. Courtside seats are on sale for $100. This includes admission to all 10 regular season home games and a comfortable seat on courtside. Seats are limited.
