Thomson High School's Bulldog Brigade marching band will compete in the Georgia Marching Band Series Championship on Saturday at Jeff Davis High School stadium in Hazlehurst, Ga.
Thomson's marching musicians and auxiliaries will take the field at 5:20 p.m. Class AAA rival Burke County will take the field at 5:40 p.m.
The awards will be presented at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Class A Lincoln County band begins the competition at 4 p.m., followed by Class A Henry County and Class AAAA Grovetown.
Class AA Jeff Davis performs at 7:30 p.m., to be followed by Class AA Southeast Bulloch at 7:50.
Class AAAA bands from Lakeside and South Effingham conclude the competition. The Aquinas High School drum line presents a show at 9:10 p.m. The event is the culmination of the band series, which began Oct. 8 at Burke County.
Thomson's band competed in that event, at the Grovetown invitational on Oct. 15, and at Jeff Davis High School on Oct. 22. Thomson brought home Superior ratings and trophies each time, including best in class and honors for the various elements of the Bulldog Brigade.
