Another autopsy held in death of Few infant

Officials are awaiting autopsy results in the investigation of a 2-month-old child who died Oct. 30.

Leanna Monet Bell Few was the daughter of Marion Few and Lana Bell. Her cause of death remains unknown, as the initial autopsy was inconclusive, said McDuffie County Coroner Rhusha Mack.

Emergency Medical Services responded to a 911 call at Few's home at about 10 a.m. Oct. 30.

The infant was not taken to the hospital until about 3 p.m., when family members brought her to the emergency room at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. She was pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m.

An investigator from the Thomson Police Department and Mack called the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for help, said Special Agent Pat Morgan of the GBI's Thomson office.

He said it will be four to six weeks before the GBI gets the results of further testing, including a toxicology report.

A graveside service for Leanna was held Saturday in the Water Branch Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grovetown.
