Mr. Charlie Douglas

HARLEM — Mr. Charlie Douglas of Harlem entered into rest Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Trinity Hospital, Augusta. A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Water Branch Baptist Church, Grovetown, with the Rev. L.J. Tanksley officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery. Mr. Douglas was a native of Columbia County, and a retiree of Georgia Iron Works after 35 years of service. He was a member of Water Branch Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Trustee Board and the L. J. Tanksleys Male Chorus. Survivors are his wife, Betty Lamb Douglas; five children, Charles (Tonya) Douglas, Pensacola, Fla., Carla (Robert) Clay, Warner Robins, Ga., Kemeatrices Douglas, Thomson, Renee Douglas and Ramon Douglas, Augusta; stepdaughter, Jamie Avery, Harlem; six stepsons, Alonzo Lamb, Calvin Richard, Michael Richard, Columbia, S.C., Reginald (Nicole) Richard, Douglasville, Ga., Steven (Debbie) Richard, Utah, and Gregory Richard, Harlem; four sisters, Mildred (Mike) Thomas, Grovetown, Jacqueline Calhoun, Thomson, Blondell (James) McElroy, Martinez, Beverley Boyd, Harlem; five brothers, Eugene Douglas, Harlem, David (May Lizzie) Douglas, Augusta, W.C. (Doris Ann) Douglas, Phillip Douglas and James (Rebecca) Douglas, all of Harlem; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; 12 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four aunts; one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
