Ten members of the Thomson Garden Study Club were greeted by volunteer hostess Mary Wells at the McDuffie Museum on Nov. 9 for their monthly meeting.
Club hostesses Margaret Thompson and Anna Williford served refreshments. A pumpkin surrounded by colorful fall foliage was the table centerpiece.
The meeting was called to order by Maggie Zieger, president. Expressions of sympathy were extended to club member Joyce Sparks on the recent death of her husband, "Sparky."
Each year in December, the Garden Study Club makes a monetary donation to a charity chosen by club members. Several worthy benefits were discussed and, following a motion by Vickie Howard, Partners For Success was chosen.
Blooms from member gardens were brought in and admired. These included Confederate rose, purple heart, several varieties of chrysanthemums and one out-of-season iris bloom.
Also attending were Joan Wiseman, Mildred Wright, Louise McCommons, Mary Frances Gibson, Millie Holbrook and Carolyn Smith.
After the meeting, club members admired recent additions to the museum.
The club's annual Christmas party will be held Dec. 14 in the club president's home.
