Mrs. Betty R. Freeman THOMSON




THOMSON — Mrs. Betty R. Freeman, 76, widow of Mr. Denny Freeman, died Monday. Nov. 28, 2011, at her home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery in Augusta. Mrs. Freeman was a native of Richmond County, but lived most of her adult life in Thomson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was loved by many friends and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Denny Freeman, and her father, Mr. Bubba Rodgers. Survivors include her daughters, Jan Freeman, Thomson, and Denise Candy (Joe) Scavone, Keysville; her son, Jeff (Kimberly) Freeman, Waynesboro; her mother, Edna Rodgers, Augusta; her brother, Alton (Denise) Rodgers, Martinez; her grandchildren, Nellie Floyd, Thomson, Jeffery Freeman Jr., Waynesboro, Michael Ansley Freeman, Waynesboro, Maria (Dan) Wandless and Michelle (Jack) DeLoach; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Floyd, Thomson, Hunter Floyd, Thomson, Daniel Wandless, William Wandless, Julian DeLoach, and Georgia DeLoach; and stepgrandchildren, Joey Scavone and Rusty Scavone. Pallbearers were Jimmy Clements, Chris Bowick, Richard Welch, Chad Hammond, Branden Hand, and Doug Knighton. Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
