Mr. Julian Howard Tugger Hinesley Sr.
WARRENTON — Mr.
Julian Howard Tugger
Hinesley Sr., age 88, beloved
husband of Mrs. Geraldine
Gerry Averitt Hinesley,
died Wednesday, Nov.
30, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services were
held at 11 a.m. Saturday,
Dec. 3, at the First United
Methodist Church with the
Rev. Jim Hanna officiating.
Burial followed in the Sallie
Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hinesley, a native of
Hancock County, was the
son of the late John Andrew
and Cynthia Dunn
Hinesley. He had been a
resident of Warren County
since 1926. He was a faithful
and devoted member of
the First United Methodist
Church of Warrenton and
served the church in many
capacities. He was president
of Citizens Bank and
was a long-standing member
of its board of directors.
He served as a member of
the Warrenton City Council
for several years. He was
one of the founding members
and on the board of directors
of Briarwood Academy.
He was also a member
of Franklin Masonic Lodge
#11 for over 50 years. Mr.
Hinesley was a World War
II veteran in the Army Air
Corps and served in Watten,
England. He retired as
the owner of Hinesley Oil
Company Inc. as an Exxon
jobber.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Geraldine Gerry Averitt
Hinesley; five sons, Julian
Howard (Susan) Hinesley
Jr., Cartersville, Ga.; Harold
A. Hal (Kathy) Hinesley,
Thomson; William W.
Wally (Cathy) Hinesley, Dothan,
Ala.,; Gerald A. (Pam)
Hinesley, Conyers, Ga.; and
Robert T. Tim (Jennifer)
Hinesley, Lawrenceville,
Ga.; one daughter, Cynthia
M. "Cyndi" Hinesley, Marietta,
Ga;12 grandchildren,
Suzanne Hinesley, Beth
Gettig, Jay Hinesley, Christina
Hinesley, Rhett Hinesley,
Jason Hinesley, Amanda
Price, Trevor Hinesley,
Drew Hinesley, Katy
Morgan, Rob Hinesley and
Melissa Hinesley; and four
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jay,
Rhett, Jason, Trevor, Drew
and Rob Hinesley, and Earl
Carr, Emile Carr, and E.
Purnell Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to
the Warrenton First United
Methodist Church Building
Fund, P.O. Box 432, Warrenton,
GA 30828.
Lowe Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.
